This is the time of year when this part of the desert normally receives occasional storms. Our dryland plants blossom briefly. We've had several rains recently and this means I step away from researching topics and writing essays. You'll find me hiking and driving down backroads, camera in hand, for the next week or so, hoping to catch the blooms...
